The DomAquarée in the centre of Berlin, between the Berliner Dom, Museum Island and Alexanderplatz is a complex of four buildings which are home to a hotel, conference centre, two office blocks, a residential block and various shopping and dining outlets. In the atrium of the hotel block sits the famous AquaDom; a 25m tall cylindrical acrylic glass aquarium, the largest in the world, with a built-in transparent elevator offering impressive views of the 1,500 fish that live inside it. Waagner Biro Steel and Glass constructed the envelope of the top two floors of the two main buildings, which consist of large single and double curved insulated glass units with integrated operable vents and supported on top of a curved steel structure.
